This is of course worthless for Windows 2000 users (remember this was back in 2003) and sound is crippled for many XP users as well.
The game may somewhat work with the compatibility file but it’s far from running 100%. That’s where the patch I made comes in. I've seen it reported on many sites that the bug has something to do with the video but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I removed well over 200 of the instructions that cause the crashes. After the patch is applied sound will work on Windows 2000 and above and there will be no more crashes, among other misc fixes. The current version allows the user to install the game using some files from the Windows, Playstation or Saturn version of Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Of course it also can still patch copies already installed too.
Anyone can help out by submitting errors or fixes they find to me (there are bound to be more I missed). My contact information is at the bottom of the page for people that would like to help or just give some feedback.
