Oct 14, 2018 - Global Underwater Explorers' dive planning and decompression software, Decoplanner, is a great program and integral to GUE's Cave.

Note and Warning: The above example profile is based upon other data entered into the Departure software program and uses decompression gasses that are not shown. It is presented as an example only and this particular example only uses slight conservatism. More conservatism settings (which are available) are desirable and should be followed. Departure at work: Departure was not just created in a lab, it is used extensively on expedition dives.

Below are pictures of a dive using Departure to ascend from a dive to more than 400 feet at altitude. Descending through 240 feet on the way to the SS Tahoe at more than 400 feet. Ascending from the high altitude dive (6229') to the SS Tahoe. Performing decompression back to Lake Tahoe's surface.

Whenever a new dive is created, it uses default dive settings, and these include depth unit, RMV, ascent and descent rates, safety factor as well as advanced VPM-B parameters. To change these defaults use the 'Dive/Default dive settings' menu option. Once the dive has been created, its settings can be customised in 2 different ways: by changing the defaults (as described above) or by providing a set of custom settings for a particular dive. This may be necessary, for example if planning a dive in difficult conditions (current, heavy gear, etc.) that could potentially affect gas consumption, etc. The settings for an individual dive can be customised using the 'spanner' toolbar button or by means of selecting the 'Use custom settings' option (in the dive properties dialog).

Once the option has been selected, the 'Settings.' Button is activated and allows them to be customised. Dives with non default settings have a small exclamation mark displayed in the dive tab.
